Chris Combs
Chris got his start in the landscaping industry at a young age when he started mowing grass at the age of 15 and before long he was also planting trees & shrubs. His small business grew into a full time landscape career after he graduated from Harrison High School. He moved his small back yard nursery in 1983 to the Calf Lane location. In 1998 after years of growth and hard work and seeing a need for a retail garden center & gift shop Chris moved Combs Landscape & Nursery to it present location on Burkhardt Road. Chris has a 15 acres retail and landscape nursery and a 45 acre Tree Farm. Chris also sits on the Farmers State Bank & St Mary's Foundation Board of Directors. He is married to Kara they have a son Cayman. Chris enjoys the challenges of hunting and playing golf .

Randy Freeman
Staff Landscape Architect
Randy is a 1970 Purdue University graduate with a B.S. in Agriculture, majoring in Landscape Architecture and a minor in Horticulture. He has designed literally hundreds of residential and commercial properties in the Evansville area in the last 39 years. He is a Reitz High School alumni and along with his wife Nancy, 2 grown children and 2 grandchildren live in the Haubstadt vicinity. Randy has been active in both professional and community leadership:
•Registered Landscape Architect (Indiana) since 1982
•Member of the original Historic preservation commission 1973 thru '75
•Reitz H.S. vocational Agribusiness oversite committee 1976 till '88
•Haubstadt Chamber of Commerce since 1978, president in 1981
•President, St. Johns U.C.ofC. (downtown and east side) 1976
•President, Salem Church of Darmstadt 1994 and 2003
•Hadi Shrine Temple Past Parade Marshall and Horse patrol member

He has worked at COMBS LANDSCAPE since 1990. Present responsibilities (besides Design and sales) includes construction site supervision, invoicing, and product procurement in irrigation, construction products and plant material.

Jay Scott
Jay joined the staff of Combs Landscape in 1992. His experiences include working for the State and National Park Service, Exploratory Geologist for a local Coal Company, Managing a local landscape nursery, and managing a Landscape Design Build firm and Garden Center in central Indiana. Jay graduated in 1983 with a BS degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, from Western Kentucky University. He also attended Ohio State University Landscape Design Workshops and is an Indiana Accredited Plantsman.
Jay likes to design local residential and commercial and has traveled as far away as Seattle Washington for one of his commercial clients. He is involved in the design process from the first meeting and supervises the landscape to the very end. Jay believes the landscape should fit the clients wants and needs, he pays close attention to the site conditions and detail to incorporate materials such as retaining walls, waterfalls, sidewalks and patios that will enhance the natural setting of the site. A properly designed landscape should bring years of enjoyment and with proper care should be as easy to maintain.
When not at work he enjoys travel, fly-fishing, sailing, kayaking, backpacking, gardening and spending time with his wife, two daughters, family and friends.

Tim Wiser
Landscape Designer/ Horticulturalist
Bachelor of science degree: Murray State University
Tim has worked as a Professional Landscape Designer in the Evansville market for 26 years; 16 years with Combs Landscape. As a resident of Mt. Carmel IL, Tim is also able to provide fast & convenient service to Southern Illinois. Tim is known for doing many small jobs; but he can also handle the big jobs as well such as The French Lick Hotel and The West Baden Dome. Tim has been married for 25 years and has 2 children. He is a member of the 1st Christian Church in Mt. Carmel and when he is not designing Landscapes he enjoys camping, boating, fishing,fishing,& fishing some more!

Barbara Hodges
Barb is the retail manager/buyer since joining Combs Landscape in 1992. She a 1982 graduate from Vincennes University with A.S. degrees in Horticulture and Floriculture. Barb is also a Indiana Accredited Plantsman with 27 years of garden center experience. Barb enjoys traveling & spending time at Barkley Lake with her husband Ed, family & friends.
Jan Hettenbach
Jan has been with Combs Landscape & Nursery for the past ten years bring her to 30 years of experience in the landscape and garden center industry. She has acquired such training as a Master Gardener, Indiana Accredited Plantsman andÊa Certified Tree Master through Purdue University. She is a dyed in the wool (Blue & Gray of course) westsider having lived there her entire adult life. Jan would like the encourage other westsiders to come see us! Combs isn't that far from home (25 min) and well worth the trip.
Earl Brown
Earl is a graduate of Bethal College with a Bachelor of Science degree in business & economic. He is a Certified Arborist, Indiana Accredited Plantsman and holds a Pesticide License in Indiana & Kentucky. Earl has over 20 years horticulture experience and joined our staff in 2004.
Lloyd Adams
Lloyd has been customer service & tree farm manager with Combs Landscape & Nursery for the past 4 years. His position has him wearing many different hats and you might see him doing almost any job within our company. He has 13 years experience in the landscape industry and has received training through the Indiana Accredited Horticulturalist program. Lloyd came to southern Indiana 13 years ago after growing up in Texas ( Gig "Em" Aggies ). He has been married to Kim for 25 years and has 2 adult children and 1 granddaughter. Lloyd enjoys outdoor activities, especially cooking over the open fire at our annual tree farm sale.
Roger Brown
Rodger joined our staff in 2000 as manager of Irrigation sales, service & installation after owning his own landscape and irrigation company in Ormond Beach Florida from 1987-93. After returning to his home town of Henderson Kentucky he owned & operated a full service landscape company until 1999. Rodger runs the day to day irrigation activities which includes overseeing the nursery and retail irrigation systems, residential, commercial and athletic fields design, installation and service. He is a registered Cross Connection Device Inspector from the Department of Environmental Management. Rodger is also in the Select Contractor group from Rain Bird professional irrigation systems. He lives in Henderson with his two sons and enjoys traveling, golf, and coaching. Call if you need water!!
