Combs Landscape and Nursery is a family-owned, Evansville-based landscape design and installation company and independent retail nursery that has been serving the Tri-State area and beyond for over 25 years. Combs employs over 50 professionals, including 4 landscape architects and designers, 9 construction crews, each with an experienced foreman, and 15 knowledgeable retail and support staff members.
We offer comprehensive landscape design and installation services for planting, hardscapes, water features, irrigation systems, landscape lighting, sodding, seeding and more. We serve the residential, commercial, civic and institutional sectors. Our portfolio includes thousands of projects in the Evansville area, plus installations as far away as Seattle, WA, Chicago, IL and Columbus, Ohio. We have also completed design and installation work for the renowned French Lick Resort and West Baden Springs Hotel and for Holiday World Theme Park in Southern Indiana.
Our work has been featured in area publications including Evansville Living magazine and Evansville Business Journal. We have received various awards for our projects, including the 2007 Keep Evansville Beautiful award for Community Improvement of the Year for Downtown Evansville’s Freedom Plaza. We were also voted the 2003 Annual Reader’s Poll Best of Evansville Award for the category of Landscape Architecture in Evansville Living magazine, and we are a past recipient of the Indiana Concrete Masonry Association Landscape Design Award.
Our garden center offers one of the most unique and diverse selections of trees, shrubs, perennials, roses, grasses, groundcovers, tropicals and annuals in the Tri-State area, and for the last 5 consecutive years, our nursery and gift shoppe has been voted the "Best Garden Center" by the Evansville Courier & Press Reader's Choice Awards, receiving the Platinum Award. Our gift shoppe carries a wide variety of fountains, windchimes, pottery, statuaries, seasonal décor, custom silk arrangements and much more. We strive to provide the highest quality of plant material grown by the best wholesale nurseries in the industry. Our experienced staff members are always available to answer questions and assist customers with anything from plant selection to load up.
We are pleased to announce that as part of our efforts to give back to our customers and the community, we are hosting a new series of free programs for the whole family. Programs are geared towards hands-on learning and include topics such as, herbs in the kitchen, growing tomatoes (and making salsa) and butterflies in the garden. For the first time this year we are also hosting a “Pink Week” to increase breast cancer awareness. All things that bloom pink will be on sale, and we will be collecting donations that go directly towards funding for breast cancer. We are proud to serve the greater Evansville area and beyond, and we are always looking to create new ways of connecting and informing our customer base while beautifying the landscapes of our community.
